An update has been long overdue. A couple of years down the track. Have finally migrated to a new hosting service. Perhaps regular updates may become a common occurange now. My photos have been re-located to my facebook page. I still need to remove the links and tidy the pages up, and write a couple of new articles that have been in the pipelines for some time.

2006-09-23

Updated the photography pages to include a photograph of a rock formation outside the western town of Rakiraki. Apparently the rock formation shows the profile of an indigenous Fiji Islander. Also updated the album to include some new photos.

Visited the W3C website and used the HTML and CSS Validators to check conformity. Also added an Resource Description Framework (RDF) Site Summary (RSS) feed for the What's New section. Don't see any real value to this, considering the content and type of this site, but it was fun to do. This will always be updated with the this "wanna-be" blog called What's New and available via the RSS logo on the top of this page.

Rizwan's home server crashed (that's what happens when you don;t run Linux) so he's updated his homepage on Sitesled, as a consequence, I have updated my Websites page to suit. Also added a snippet from the Fiji Times, dated 15/09/2006, regarding a dead mongoose, needless to say I am referred to as "backtracking hubby". Got listed on Sitesled's Directory as well.

Updated the privacy disclaimer on the About this site page to include information about the hit counter. Previously there was no form of tracking on the site, but now visitors browser, operating system and IP addresses are tracked to provide details of the visitor demographics, in the hope that these may drive future improvements to the site. Also corrected a spelling error on my favourite quotes page.

Thanks to Sitesled, the people providing free hosting for this site, they are now providing free hit counting as well vis WeCountHits. Have included this as part of the site so I can track the hits to the webpage and get some demographic statistice. Hopefully in some way this will provide ideas for improving the site. Also if I find anything interesting about the statistics, I may post them up as part of the website.

Updated the Websites section to include Faith and Dave's websites. Also started cycling to work this week, because I finally saved up to get a cycling helmet. I got myself a Lazer (www.lazer.be) Tempo/Fireball. It must be outdated because I cannot find it on the Lazer website. Anyhoo, I take a long route (in terms of distance) to work, and return via a shorter one (mostly uphil). Both trip are about 25 minutes. Will be able to provide more concrete details once I get the battery for my cycling computer replaced.

I spent considerable time searching the Internet for the wiring diagrams for the Datsun Sunny B210 (aka Datsun 120Y), and am still looking. Thinking there may be some people searching for Nissan Micra Wiring Diagrams for the K10, I have scanned some pages from the Hynes Service and Repair Manual and uploaded them here

Updated the Articles page to include my Submission to Sector Standing Committee on Justice, Law and Order on Promotion of Reconciliation, Tolerance and Unity Bill, 2005. I had made the submission in June 2005. also renamed the Critique section to Rambling to encompass a wider scope of articles.

After a secret message from my brother Benjamin, I went and got the third edition of Fiji Living, and much to my wife's disappointment spent some time doing a critique on it. Also corrected some error in the copyright information of the website.

Added a critique/essay called Fiji Islands, Fiji Islanders and Fiji Politics. Just a little pot shot in layman's terms. So far all the feedback on this has been positive.

Developed HOWTO on using PuTTY and an SSH server to allow password-free login using PKI. At the time of writing the latest version of PuTTY was 0.58.

Started my Critique pages. Basically expressing my personal opinion on a number of publications, mostly Fiji based ones. The Fiji Islands is a very small country and people are able to get away with a lot, this is just my way of keeping them in check! The Critique page is linked off my Articles page.

Started work on revamping www.kush.com.fj to be slightly less crappy. Designed to be more platform and browser independent and to have better performance, by minimizing use of images, etc. Current version is 2.0.
